Mpfariseni Budeli completed a PhD in Commercial Law at the University of Cape Town. She is a Professor in the Department of Mercantile Law at UNISA. She is also a Visiting Professor for Labour Law at the University of Lusaka, Zambia and the University of Dar Es Salaam, Tanzania. In 2012 she was awarded a Y2 (Young Promising researcher) rating by the National Research Foundation (NRF).
