Dr. M.J Madito is the Senior Lecturer in the Institute for Nanotechnology and Water Sustainability (iNanoWS) at the University of South Africa. Dr Madito after obtaining his PhD degree (2016) at the University of Pretoria he worked at the same university as a part-time lecturer, laboratory assistant/technician and postdoctoral research fellow (2016-2018), focusing mainly on graphene and graphene-based nanocomposites for high-electrochemical performance supercapacitors. Thereafter, he moved to the materials research department at iThemba LABS (2019-2020) where he worked as the postdoctoral research fellow (National Research Foundation (NRF) Professional Development Programme), focusing on the development and testing of a multi-functional chamber for Ion Beam Analysis at iThemba LABS (and ion irradiation-induced effects on the structure of nuclear materials). Dr Madito’s research interests are generally in the synthesis/modification, and characterization of nanomaterials for science innovation and technology. Dr M.J Madito is Y rated by NRF. He has published over 60 papers since 2015 in international peer-reviewed journals. His Google Scholar Citations since 2016 is over 1000 with an H index of 24 and i10-index of 42. He is a member of the International Society of Electrochemistry (ISE), a member of the South African Young Academy of Science (SAYAS), and an associate member of the Royal Society of Chemistry, UK (AMRSC). He is a reviewer for various international journals, books, and conference proceedings in the field of nanomaterials and energy storage. He is actively involved in National Science Week (NSW), students EXPO and college Open days, including supervising, teaching, and training postgraduate students.
