Prof. Kapil Gupta is working as Associate Professor in the Dept. of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering Technology at the University of Johannesburg. He obtained Ph.D. in mechanical engineering with specialization in Advanced Manufacturing. He has ten years of professional experience in academic and research fields. Advanced machining processes, sustainable manufacturing, green machining, precision engineering, gear technology, and industry 4.0 are the areas of his interest. He is leading advanced materials processing and manufacturing research group at the University of Johannesburg. He is a Y-rated researcher by National Research Foundation (NRF) of South Africa and registered with the Engineering Council of South Africa (ECSA) as a Professional Engineering Technologist. He has authored and edited twenty international books on hybrid machining, advanced gear manufacturing, micro and precision manufacturing, spark erosion machining, and sustainable manufacturing. He has also authored more than seventy-five international journal and conference articles. He is actively serving on the editorial boards of five international journals and technical committees of many international conferences. He has supervised eight masters and two doctoral students, and three postdocs. He is working on some international projects in collaboration with local and global partners. Prof. Kapil Gupta is regularly solicited by international institutes, associations, and universities for expert talks and keynote speeches. He is also working on engineering education 4.0 and UN’s sustainable development goals.
