The British Academy is pleased to invite nominations for the 2015 Nayef Al-Rodhan Prize for Transcultural Understanding. This major international prize, worth £25,000, was established in 2013 to reward “outstanding academic achievement in transcultural understanding” and is designed to illustrate the interconnected nature of cultures and civilizations. The 2015 prize will be awarded at a special event held in London in autumn 2015.
Eligible work can be from any humanities or social science discipline or disciplines, and may take the form of a book or equivalent body of work (such as a series of articles), published within the last five years (i.e. for the 2015 prize, published within the period 2010-2014). Work that has broad relevance, contributing to public understanding and wider debate, is particularly encouraged. Nominated persons can be of any nationality and working in any language, provided that the nominated work is available in English.
